My printer keeps printing out an inappropiate ad for something that I have never heard of and it has been doing it randomly all day long, even when we are not printing anything. There is a supposed phone number on the back side of the page that you can call to "unsubscribe, but when I try to look it up, it just has too many numbers.  It is disturbing and unsettling to say the least.  Has anyone else ever had this happen to them?

Thank you.  I did find an article on ZDNet about the exact same thing.  I am just not sure hpw to stop it.  It's using a lot of paper and ink....and the content is super offensive.....

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't either.

I suggest you turn off your printer for now.

The one article suggests updating the firmware, but I doubt the firmware is newer than the hacker's program.

@Pallos, you should disable UPNP on your router if it is unabled.

I'm having the same issue, and again on Dec. 7th, weird flyers starting printing in the middle of the night. 5 calls to HP later, still no resolution, and I'm paying for Instant Ink!

@Tracychef1, did update the printer firmware?

Are you running the latest firmware on your router?

If UPNP is enabled on the router disable it.

@8lives, the printer has been updated, unstalled, reinstalled so many times, I can't even count. I'll disable UPNP now and see if that works. Interesting that in at least 20 phone calls, HP has never suggested that.
