What weight card stock do you use.

This is the solution I just used with my OfficeJet 8610. I tried everything else, and nothing would register the paper. I got this printer strictly for printing certificates, and I was almost afraid I wasted money. Thank goodness for this post. I would have never picked it otherwise, because the other options I used eliminated this option in my mind. Thank you!

I see the solution above - but can't figure  how to do it.  I"m on a MAC.   same problem - won't print on my thicker paper.

where does one see these choices for paper?   I don't see them  (on a Mac)

Woo Hoo!  Have an Officejet Pro 8600 and a Mac.  To print on cardstock, I selected Photo Paper.  It worked well.

This is how I (not an expert, but got lucky) printed 4 x 6 photos from my digital camera on an HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 using 4 x 6 card stock and a Mac computer:

1.  removed all 8 x 11 paper from the single tray, then loaded 4 x 6 cardstock with shiny side facing down in the paper tray, by adjusting the left - right and top - bottom mechansims with the light blue tab levers so that the cardstock layout was the same as the tray, i.e. the 4 inch side was at the narrower top and bottom sides of the tray and 6 inch side was on the longer left and right sides of the tray.

2.  using the Photos software on the Mac, selected the photo to be printed, selected the 4 x 6 format, hit the PRINT button, then selected "photo paper" from the preset setting of plain paper, and hit print.
