Must remove dynamic security from my HP OfficeJet Pro 6975 All-in-One Printer.
This problem did not exist until you surreptitiously put it in the last Firmware update.
Please help me remove it, otherwise my printer will be worthless junk, and any HP never to be purchased again.
Thanks, J-A-K1

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
Dynamic Security protects the printer against using non-HP chipped cartridges.
Should there be a way to do what you describe, you will not find that advice in the Community.
One of our primary directives is "do not breach security" (the rule is worded differently).

Hi @J-A-K1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 6975 All-in-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Update the printer firmware

If the issue persists, then please follow the steps mentioned in this document: HP Inkjet Printers - Dynamic Security Feature Affecting Cartridges Using Non-HP Security Chip
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Andy,
Thank you for trying to help me.
I'm sorry but the solution you offered did not work.
The Firmware notes specifically that: "HP Officejet Pro 6970, ..... printers: this update disables dynamic security for printers manufactured before December 1, 2016. For printers manufactured on December 1, 2016 or later, dynamic security remains functional with this update."
My serial number is: TH6CM631H6, FPU#: J7K36-64001. I can't find a date of manufacture anywhere.
I probably purchased it in early 2017, so it could be before 12-31-2016 or after.
However, the dynamic security also prevents me from using the Original HP Cartridges that came with my Printer saying that they are an "Older Generation." If I received "older generatio " cartridges with my printer that should mean that it is older generation also.
All this illustrates to me that my Printer is no longer the same that I purchased and that the Firmware has changed its original characteristics. This is not acceptable. Please help me remove the latest firmware that has disabled my printer.
I would like the latest Firmware removed.
