I have tried by removing the power cable - hold the power button for 15 secs but the printer alignment "spool" is still going hours later - how do you hardwire factory reset the printer please?

@PMahonIRE

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly. Also, which Printer do you have?

Try removing and reinstalling the cartridges. If you have another set of ink cartridges, do try them.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi Betty

The printer is an Envy 5530

I have removed power cable, new wall socket, inserted brand new genuine ink cartridges - I always used genuine HP ones. The printer screen is still saying "Now printing alignment page" and the spooling circle on the screen. This is going on now for hours.

I have tried to power down and press and hold the power button for 15 secs while removing the power cable to the printer.

This all started when I changed a black cartridge last week and when asked to scan a print alignment page I skipped this.

Help:-)
