My printer is only a month old. The first week I had it, it started to print from the photo tray despite all settings correct. I chatted with support and we ended up resetting the printer which included powering off the printer for a set length of time, removing the power cable for a set time and reattaching the cable in sequence.
I have the same problem again. I chatted and talked with support but they didn't know of any such reset sequence to put things back right. Like I said above , the reset did fix the previous problem and the sequence of steps we specific and involved the power cable and the on/off switch on the printer. I suspect the problem was caused by my power bar. The printer is now in its own wall socket.
I would appreciate any help.

I have managed to fix this problem.
Then very first step was to unplug the printer while it was online and let it sit for 2 hours.
1 - I started Mozilla Thunderbird Email and select an email with no attachments.
2- print... , properties ...... page/quality and set the paper source from "Photo" to main tray and set the media as" Plain Paper".
3- The job printed properly . Then I closed the email program.
4- started Thunderbird email again and when i got down to page/quality, the main tray was again set to photo and the media to plain paper.
5- Again, I repeated step 2 bit once again the job would have printed on photo papaer from the photo tray if i had not changed these two setting.
6- Once again I started THunderbird Email , selected an email with no attachments and repeated step 2 but the paper source was already set to Main Tray and the Media was set to Pain Paper. PROBLEM RESOLVED.
I would like to thank H.P. Employee " Rainbow 23 " who worked closely with me to fix this problem.
