Hello!! I’ve been having trouble with my Hp Smart Tank 515 with printing on legal size paper. Whenever I try, there will either be a big blank portion on the bottom or a portion the document I try to print will be cut out. Please help as I need to print more on legal sized papers now. Thank you!!

Hi @redwarrior1020,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding legal-size printing on the HP Smart Tank 515!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Paper Size Settings:
- Make sure that your printer driver and document settings are configured to legal size (8.5 x 14 inches).
- In your print settings, verify that the paper size is set to "Legal." This can typically be found under the "Page Setup" or "Print Preferences" in the print dialog box before printing.
Adjust Print Margins:
- Review the margin settings within your document. Ensure that the margins are set appropriately to fit the legal-size paper.
- Go to the layout settings of your document, such as in Word, and ensure margins are not exceeding the paper size limits.
Ensure Printer Tray Alignment:
- Confirm that the paper tray guides are adjusted to fit legal size paper perfectly. Misalignment can cause the printer to print incorrectly or miss parts of the document.
Firmware and Driver Update:
- Check for updates to your printer firmware and print drivers. These updates can resolve compatibility issues with different paper sizes.
Print Preview:
- Always use the print preview option to check how the document will look before printing. This can highlight any areas that might be cut off or blank.
Software Settings:
- Make sure you are selecting the right paper type and size when printing from your computer software. Sometimes selecting a general paper type can cause the printer to default to common sizes like A4 or Letter.
