Hp Officejet 3830
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I keep trying to print a photo on 4x6 photo paper on my officejet 3830 printer. even though I pick 4x6 on the computer and on the printer every time I hit print it sasys printer paper size doesn't fit the paper size that I chose with the computer. This is very frusterating to me because this is the very reason that I bought this printer. I was wondering if there might be something that I am doing wrong in any way. If you can help in any way thank you.

If I am reading this correctly, it sounds like you are setting the print job on the computer (using some kind of print software appropriate for printing photos / images, and you are then going to the printer and tapping the print key on the printer.

If that is the case, the printer hardware is not able to read what you are doing with the print software on the computer.  The printer, unless the job comes to it fully configured, uses the default print settings on the printer itself - likely standard sized paper as defined in your region.

Solution:

Use photo print software on the computer to fully configure the print job and send it to the printer.

Regardless of the reason (and my interpretation), assuming:

The Full Feature Software is installed,

The paper is loaded correctly (in the proper tray,

The paper is in the proper orientation,

The paper is print surface is up / down as appropriate for the printer,

Then the issue may just be a confusion / misconfiguration in the print settings.

Consider / Try the Following:

Download, Save, and install:

HP Photo Creations

After the software is installed:

Click Start (windows key) > all apps > scroll the list

Open Category HP

Find the HP Photo Creations application

Right-Click on the application and PIN to Start
