Same issue.  Charged each month for ink but never received any in the mail.  Canceled service after over a year and purchased my own ink and hp turned off access to use my own printer with ink I purchased myself at the office supply store making the entire printer purchase useless unless you are willing to pay a monthly charge for nothing.  Outrageous.   While I had no problem with the printer while paying monthly charges I never used it enough to get ink sent to me.  The idea that they block any use unless you pay them additional fees monthly means I am renting a printer, so why ever buy an HP if doing so just locks you into a rental agreement you can never get out of without rendering your "purchase" useless?

@dhorand

HP printers will work with either regular store bought cartridges or with Instant Ink cartridges.  Your printer should never be useless just because you dont' have Instant Ink.

Once you cancel your Instant Ink service the Instant Ink cartridges will not work in your printer anymore so they can be recycled.  You would just need to go buy regular HP cartridges.   If you are having a problem printing from regular HP cartridges you bought please contact HP support as all HP printers will work with HP cartridges.

Thank you,

I had purchased ink not instant ink and the machine was wanting me to enroll in instant ink.  I was eventually able to resolve it.
