What is each icon/what does it do at the bottom of the Copy/Fax/Scan screen?

I have reset my clock time 3 times.  What could be the problem?

I need to print envelopes that are 5-3/4 x 8-3/4,  Can my Envy handle such an odd size?  How do I print?

When posting in the Forum, how do you change your occupation?

Hi @phillyfilly,

Thanks for showing interest in the HP Support Forums!

I see that you're inquiring about some features on your HP Envy 7640 Printer. I would be happy to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

To learn how to use your printer and have a better understanding of the menu options, I recommend that you view the User Guide on page 6 Chapter 2 Get started: Control panel display icons .

Once you reset the date and time, ensure to click on OK or Done to save the settings if prompted.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.

  1. Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
  2. Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
  3. Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet (don't use a power bar or a surge protector).
  4. Check the date and time to see if it retained the settings.

If you would like to edit your HP Support Forums profile, follow the steps below.

  1. Log into your account and click on your profile name in the upper-right hand corner.

  3. Select the Personal tab.
  4. Edit your account as desired.

It would appear that you're trying to use an unsupported paper size

  • 5 3/4" x 8 3/4”is A9 Envelope.

Supported Media sizes:

  • A4; A5; B5; DL; C6; A6; Custom: 76 x 127 to 216 x 356 mm.

In addition, you can certainly configure a custom paper size in Windows, however, there is no guarantee that it will work.

Otherwise, I recommend that you use supported paper sizes intended for this printer.

I hope this helps. Please respond with the results. I hope you have a great day! Smiley Happy
