HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer

Hello,

I have an HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer and I cannot get the "i" button to turn off; it stays on a solid red light and no matter what I do. I have seen many trouble shooting responses in regards to this button blinking, but not if it is a solid light. From what I can tell this light is not supposed to remain on at all times. I have read the manual which does not address this issue and have unplugged the printer from the power source for 3 minutes as well, the light still remains on.

Any help would be greatly apricated!

I understand that information button on the printer is light up.

Press and hold the information light to print the information page and the will give us the printer status information.

Hello,

Thanks for your response. When I press and hold the "i" button I don't get the printer information page, I get the Wireless Quick Start Guide only.

Please advise

Thanks!

Try the below suggestions-

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Also, refer to -Blinking Lights

Let me know how this goes!

Hi Jay,

Thanks again for your reply. I tried the hack with the power cord reset and it didn't work unfortunately. I also checked for updates as you suggested and the app HP app states I am up to date. The light remains on; again it is not blinking it is a solid red light that remains on at all times at the "i" button.

We just set up a printer and are using the starter cartridges that are not "registered" with our instant ink subscription.  Could it be that you are using unregistered ink cartridges?  I can report back when we get our first set in the mail soon but my light is also a consistent orange/red color.

I am using the starter cartridge's that came with the printer. I have already received my first replacement set but am NO where near close to needing them yet. I'm hesitant to open them up to see if that makes a difference because I don't want them to go to waste or dry out. I'd be surprised if that's the issue as the first set provided with the printer are HP so you would think they would be compatible regardless?
