So we have a relatively new printer that was already set up and used for about a week (WORKING WITH NO ISSUES, AND NO PROBLEMS GETTING SET UP WITH SETUP CARTRIDGES). Then after moving homes, it was packed up for several weeks and we cannot get it to get past the Install Setup Cartridges message that we had when we first set it up. We used up the setup cartridges already, do not have them, but we do have brand new inks we are trying to use.

Since it seems like nobody will share publicly how to bypass this successfully to get a working printer again, can someone PM me the reset/bypass procedure?

We have gone to the hidden support menu and tried both a partial and full reset as well as clearing any error states, those are basically all of the options available on this model printer. None of those made any difference.

Hi @NorthamptonPC,

I'd like to help!

I understand you are receiving a "use setup cartridges" error.

We would have to perform an OOBE reset on the printer to bypass the error

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.

BUMP

Would just love some help from any of these folks that have PM'ed this info to others. It's fine if you copy/paste the steps, I won't feel hurt 😉

We had a perfectly functional printer for about 100 pages, (until we unplugged it) and now we have a useless hunk of plastic and electronics on our hands until we can get this out of setup mode.
