So still no response from HP?? Tescos are still selling these printers I wonder how many have been returned? I still get this error and currently having problems getting it to install on another pc. I can ping the ip and host name of the printer from the pc but when I run the install wizard for the connection it can not see it and suggests the printer is not on the same wireless network? Come on HP you can do better than this?

Woohoo!
Breaking news, after struggeling with this problem for months... yeah... for months... it seems solved.
Hitting "Compatabillity View" out of frustration against my HP printer/scanner seems to solve the issue for me, please try for yourselves. Not sure if I translated "Compatabillity View" correctly, so I pointed out the icon in IE with a yellow arrow.
I had to wait for a bit... also I have added the printer website to "trusted websites" in IE.
Let me know your thoughts.

Hi,
I have troubles with my windows 7 software application to scan my documents.
Most of the time this software seems not to work OK, only when I reboot ...
I prefer then using the navigator (Chrome by default), by using the webscan feature.
But when I go to parameter tab, then security, I get a system error.
i tried also with IE (not onlyChrome), and cannot find any solution, although I played with what you call "compatibility view" in your post. No way to avoid "system error", and do not know how to include the printer certificate in my Chrome browser if that could help.
see my "compatibility check" like config in Chrome. I do not see what could be wrong.
Note that i also have avast running, perhaps shouls I disable something there ? Attached also my firewall config within avast.
Thanks a lot for any help, I loose a lot of time each time I need to scan a document !
Rgds.

Maybe hpuser7812 got the issue solved but there's plenty of people that is getting this error.
I have a HP Deskjet 3050A J611 series and I get the Internal System Error.
I can restart the Printer, use compatibility, trusted sites, etc... I keep getting the error!
There's no fix?

Yes, it did work. I used chrome
open chrome and type https://x.x.x.x
and click on "settings" > "security" > "Administrative Settings"
Chrome will prompt message "Your connection is not private"
down below you will see a link showing your printer ip address like this, click on the link - "Proceed to 192.168.1.5 (unsafe)"
Click on "enable" as shown below.
Note: For the settings to take effect, turn off the printer and then turn it on again
