iOS 12 - 12.0.1

I have been able to print in colour from my Iphone until recently but now as I connect to the printer through wireless the phone changes to only giving me an option to print in black and white.  This has probably happened since I upgrade my software to 12.1.2 but I cant be sure on this!  Is this an HP problem or Apple? Is there a way to correct it? I can still print in colour from my PC!

A warm welcome to HP Community!

It sounds like the Black & White printing option is enabled on your iOS devices. Let's try disabling Black & White printing.

Here is how to do it:

1.) Open the document or photo you want to print, and then tap the Share icon  or  .

2.) Tap Print or the Print icon .

3.) On the Printer Options menu, tap Select Printer, and then select your printer from the list.

4.) Touch Options and disable Black & White.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi no sorry that does not work as no options are avaialble for the printer other than paper size or no of copies!

The photo turns immmediately to black and white  on the printer options page and although the printer information shows both colour and black and white symbols you cant choose or amend?

Thanks! You are right the Options menu is not available. Performing a network power cycle, updating printer firmware and iOS may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and iOS is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and iOS:

Update printer firmware

Update software on iOS

1.) Turn off your iPhone, Printer and Router.

2.) Unplug the power from the back of router, wait for 10 -15 seconds.

3.) Connect the power cable back to router, turn on the router first. Wait till the router to initialize.

4.) Turn on Printer and iPhone, check if you can disable Black&White option.

Keep me posted!
