This happened to me as well! Had issues (and still do) with my Envy 4520 printer and its scan funciton. Contacted what I thought was HP support. Chat popped-up and offered to address my HP printer issue. Asked for my phone number, a "technician" called, asked for remote access (seemed resonable), then proceeeded to bring all sorts of issues up about corrupted drivers, need for immeadiate service on the computer, and that I must have a firewall for my network installed immeadiately. All of this can easly be resolved for $199/yr. I almost did it. They do have all my contact info, but not my full CC number. I bailed when they asked for my driver's license number and SS number.

i would like to get a phone number 2 contact HP. have a problem with printer clicked on what i thought was an HP helper and chatted. was connected 2 Sapphire softtech, paid 260 dollars and still have problem. i told them i nwamt a complete refundand they said they would have billing dept. call me in a few hours. this was after argueing with them during 2 phone calls. threatened 2 call BBB and attorney general and was told they would not b able to give me a refund so it would b useless to call them. also said i would call HP and got same response and was told not to bother calling bank because it would take 6 months to get rrefund. i never mentioned calling bank so i think they r trying to cover all my options and only want me to talk to them. i am 72 yrs old and i think i have been taking advantage of. hopefully i will get a refund.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
