Envy 4520 inkjet printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My problems with my 4520 Envy printer continue. I can't get either of my laptops to connect to the printer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and reset my router (At&T). I'm running windows 10 64 bit OS in both machines. Both are Compaq CQ57 laptops. One laptop installed the printer as HP Envy 4520 series (network) but will not print to the printer. The other printer recognizes the printer as Direct HP 4520 Series but when I click to install it asks for the WPS PIN. When I put in (the router passphrase) it tells me the printer quit waiting.

I ran a wireless test report and everything passed except for the printer not being connected to the internet so I am at a loss as to what to do to get the printer to communicate with the laptops.

Thanks for any help

Since you have a router you do not need Wireless Direct turned on in the printer. Disable Wireless Direct in the printer and start the installation all over again connecting the printer to your routers SSID with password.

Hi medic339

I had the same problem and i fixed mine, using this method.

1. Go to your printer touch screen and select wireless icon (if is say's not connected touch the cog/settings in the bottom left)

2. there are 3 choices, select Wireless setup wizard and follow the onscreen instructions, once it searches for your network, it will ask you for your routers SSID password, once entered it should connect.

Hope this works.

Thanks Shaun

Hi, Sorry forgot to mention, once your printer is connected to your network.

Goto your laptop and run HP print and scan doctor and folow instructions.

Thanks Shaun
