UPDATE:

It seems that they revised the firmware page to an older version of the firmware (20240813).

However, I tried installing the firmware executable (.exe file) and it did NOT successfully roll back the firmware. The printer is still "stuck" on 20250209.

When I run the EWS interface for the printer to try and update the firmware - it says that 20250209 is the latest.

TL;DR - Any printers that were bricked REMAIN BRICKED. The change on the driver/firmware page was just to prevent MORE people from downloading the faulty firmware. We're still out of luck.

They're probably going to have to rename the file name in whatever repository the auto-updates grab it from to seem like the newest one.

I'm pretty sure we could do it for them if they gave us access. I charge $150/hr...lol

Ik zit echt met een probleem waar kan ik terecht . Ik heb alles gereinigd maar ben niet zo technisch met update terug zetten???

Yep -  I suggested that they do that many comments ago. I'm not even a firmware programmer. It's just common logic.

1. If printer does not allow downgrades, then..

2. rename file to a newer version

3. upload said file with new more current filename

4. Let update commence.

Not sure if there is other line-level coding within the firmware file - but I'm sure it's easy peasy.

I'm glad this received notice on scale. I have a decade in engineering roles and used to service printers as well via corporate service companies. I could not find any issue with my printer outside of the firmware change as it just printed 24 hours ago. I have no further evidence other than the firmware change.

I already threw mine in the dumpster and switched brands since I need a printer to function for my full time job along with my two side businesses I run from home.

It looks like Louis Rossman also responded to my email - and posted a video about this!!

Ya, no dice to downgrade, ran the tool on different machines and yet it still doesn't do it.

when you press send firmware to printer, the printer starts up for a little and turns off and back on but doesn't do anything.  I just hope their team can release a proper firmware downgrade or something.

I guess from now on, never reccemending HP to anyone. Their products are still crap after all these years.

That's the firmware I already had, it fails to install...

I wish they would offer me something.  I had to have my printer completely restored due to an issue that was caused by my HP printer.  Then had the printer repaired by HP and now it's not working again and they are asking me to sign up for a subscription so that they can repair my laptop.  The problem is not with my laptop since I tried to install the printer on a brand new laptop after it wouldn't work on my old laptop.  Wish they'd give me a voucher or buy me a new printer, nothing HP though!
