M140we printer can scan but cannot print. there is Er 11 with orange exclamation mark.

The Er/11 error with an orange exclamation mark on your HP LaserJet MFP M140we printer typically indicates a toner cartridge issue—either it's not installed correctly, not recognized, or there's a problem with the chip or contacts.

Steps to Resolve Er/11 Error:

  1. Power Cycle the Printer:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall.
    • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
       
  2. Reinstall the Toner Cartridge:
    • Open the toner access door.
    • Remove the toner cartridge and gently shake it side to side to redistribute the toner.
    • Reinsert it firmly until it clicks into place.
       
  3. Check for Protective Seals:
    • If the cartridge is new, make sure you’ve removed all protective seals or plastic strips.
       
  4. Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
    • Use a lint-free cloth to gently clean the metal contacts on the toner cartridge and inside the printer.
       
  5. Use Genuine HP Toner:
    • Ensure you're using a genuine HP 150A or 150X toner cartridge, as third-party or refilled cartridges may not be recognized.
