HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw

Hello,

I'm looking for instructions on how to do a factory reset on my HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw. It is stuck in an endless initializing loop which I haven't been able to fix.

Thanks

Hi @Kyle110,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

We need to perform a reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name, or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi @Elohi_NR

With the instructions you sent me, I was able to correct the problem and now my printer functions normally. Thank you!

I'll add some additional information for any other users that happen across this thread.

While fixing the printer by following the instructions provided, I found out that the cause of the issue was a bad fax job that had been sent to the printer by mistake. Clearing that job from the fax queue on the computer in question also resolved the issue.

Thank you again @Elohi_NR
