@Chuckb1513, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Printer Door Open" error you're seeing especially after installing new ink cartridges can often be caused by a misalignment or obstruction around the cartridge access door. Here are some steps to help resolve the issue:

Check the Cartridge Door

  • Open the cartridge access door fully.
  • Inspect the hinges and surrounding area for any packing material, tape, or debris that might prevent the door from closing properly.
  • Gently press the door closed until it clicks securely into place.

Inspect the Ink Cartridges

  • Remove the newly installed cartridges.
  • Check for any protective tape that might not have been removed.
  • Reinsert the cartridges firmly until they snap into place.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall and the printer.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips).
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.

Update Firmware (Optional but Recommended)

  • Visit the HP Support page to ensure your printer has the latest firmware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
