What is the protocol for someone using a macbook?

I was having the exact same problem and tried all the recommendations from HP support none of which worked. I left the device unplugged and powered off for 24 hrs or more and now the printer is behaving normally and hasn't went back into the blinking state for more than a week. My guess some capacitors needed to fully discharge but happy its working. Try it
