Hi everyone, I finally got the solution to the problem,

 - The default printer driver is the problem.

 - First you should disconnect the printer from the PC,

 You uninstall the driver,

 - Then you download the latest version of your printer driver from the official HP website,

 - And you install the driver download on the PC. And everything will be in order.

Thanks NETech,  I followed your advice and after some fiddling managed to get the option to reinstall with the USB connection and all now seems OK.  I  uninstalled the driver and HP Smart and reinstalled both from HP - whether this was completely necessary I don't know.  Initially it seemed to default to installing the network connection but cancelling and restarting the driver install gave me a selection screen for USB or Network.

I was about to post a reply to messages which had come before yours.  Last night, there was the monthly update from MS and I wondered whether a change may have been made to reverse this problem which occurred with the June updates.  However, reconnecting the USB connection resulted in the rogue pages resuming.  That is why I wanted to follow your advice with the USB connection.  I did have satisfactory operation using the network connection - possibly resulting from disabling internet printing as discussed in earlier posts.  However, your advice to get the latest driver from HP may mean that disabling internet printing is no longer required.

Today, I discovered that MajorGeeks.com has a utility for the registry changes for internet printing.

Thanks - hopefully this will provide the real answer for the many others who are still having the problem.

I Have the same problem on my Laser Jeet Pro MFP M227fdw. Can you please provide me with the reset instructions as well?

The answer provided by NETech seems to be the best.  It worked for me.

Basically, NETech recommends replacing the default printer drivers provided automatically by Windows with drivers downloaded from HP.  The link for these is https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/printers.

We can't be more specific as you need to select the driver relevant to your printer.  (I was quite surprised by the number of options for the Laserjet M404 that I have tested this on.)

As NETech specifies, you need to disconnect the printer, uninstall the driver by removing it from the printers list, download and install the driver from the HP site and then reconnect the printer.

If we go on the forum it is to have the solution not that you share it only with one person
