Not sure if you resolved your issue or not, but I had the samething happen to me and I tried everything I could find to resolve the issue but nothing worked. I finally uninstalled the printer and the drivers from my computer and reinstalled everything .
turn the printer off, no need to unplug or disconnect from the computer. uninstall printer through the window settings, device manager. then go to control panel, administrative tools, then print management, click on all drivers and delete the driver for your printer. Restart your computer. then turn the printer back on and reset the nvram according to your printers manual, for my hp laserjet pro m501, I had to hold the up arrow and the cancel button at the same time that I powered on the printer. when the print management int screen appears release the up button and cancel button. once the printer is ready, reinstall the printer through the window settings device manager. hope this helps anyone who is facing this issue. it worked for me.

Thanks Demonater19. Yes I did resolve the problem thanks to NETech who discovered that replacing the drivers automatically installed by Windows with those downloaded from HP fixed the problem. The procedures were similar to what you describe. I confirmed that this solution worked in several posts.
However, it seems that you may have simply removed the old drivers and reinstalled updated drivers from Windows which could mean that Microsoft has now fixed the problem. The problem arose following the June updates from Microsoft. Uninstalling those did not fix the problem. A fix may have been made in later months but would not affect already installed drivers.
There has been a series of requests from people seeking instructions. All these have been published in the forum - I'm not aware of any others. For those not familiar with some of the details you (and I) used, Treeko provided some links to HP Support for alternative ways of replacing the drivers. Most specify disconnecting the printer but, as you did, the same result can be obtained by just turning it off.
Thanks for this later update.

Hello, I have the same issue. Can you please provide me the solution or link to the solution? I was clicking the link in the original email, but it blocked my access. With so many people having the same problem shouldn’t we just post it publicly instead of privately to resolve? Thank you.
