HP Ink Tank Wireless 416

My printer is stuck with the orange light on the screen (the paper-out light) and the orange light for the black ink cartridge is also on, along with the blue Wireless Connection light and the white Wireless light. The digital panel is off, and nothing on the printer works—not the panel, not any buttons!

I’ve tested the power supply, and it’s working perfectly, as well as the power cord and outlets. The ink cartridges are new. I’ve tried resetting the printer in different ways, but no luck. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?hp.jpeg

Hi @Kalabro,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Ink Tank Wireless 416 is experiencing a hardware issue, given that the display is off and the printer isn't responding. Here are a few troubleshooting steps to try.

Power Cycle:

  • Turn Off: Disconnect the power cord from the printer while it is still turned on.
  • Wait: Leave it unplugged for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect: Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer. Check if it starts up properly.

Check Paper Path:

  • Paper Jam: Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Sometimes, even small bits of paper or debris can cause issues.
  • Paper Tray: Make sure the paper tray is properly seated and contains paper.

Inspect Ink Cartridges:

  • Reinstall Cartridges: Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly seated.
  • Check Cartridge Contacts: Ensure the metal contacts on the cartridges are clean and not damaged.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn Off: Turn off the printer and disconnect all cables.
  • Press and Hold: Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect and Power On: Reconnect all cables and turn the printer back on.

Firmware Update: If you can get the printer to turn on, check for any available firmware updates via the HP Smart app or HP's website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have the same issue. There is absolutely no change after doing this steps:

The printer still shows no sings of life with only those 2 lights on.
Do you have any real advice that is not copy paste from turn it on and off again?

Hi @FrancoLizarraga ,

We apologize for the inconvenience, but it seems that the issue persists even after attempting the troubleshooting steps mentioned above.

This might require one-on-one interaction via remote assistance to fix the issue.
