HP Officejet 7612
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

This printer was advertised on the scrapbooking channel as being IDEAL for scrapbookers. However, it does NOT print 12x12 paper and it will not print on the paper I just purchased which is Printable sticker paper.  It grabs the paper and runs it half way through and then says I have to remove it from the back because  of a paper jam.  The only thing it WILL print is plain paper 81/2 x 11.

Hi @Scrapbooker1,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you're trying to print on 12 x12 printable sticker paper. I will certainly do my best to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

Your printer is capable of printing 12 x 12 on plain paper as per the supported paper sizes. That being said, it should work.

  • Are you able to print on plain paper and other documents without it jamming?
  • Which application are you printing from?
  • Make sure that this paper is meant to be used in inkjet printers.
  • What brand of paper are you using?

If your paper has a backing to peel off, do not remove it until printing has been completed and you're ready to apply the sticker.

Please ensure you're printing on the correct side of the paper. Insert the paper print-side down in the tray.

Here's some information that might be helpful.

I would try increasing the print quality setting to Best or higher to slow the printing process down.

Hope this answers your question. Please respond to this post with the results. Thank you for posting!

I really appreciate all the suggestions - but I still am having no luck with my printer.  The sticker paper is made by Cricut and simply says "use it with your home printer."  My printer insists on grabbing the paper, running it through, and then trying to run it back through to print - at which point it just JAMS 😞   I have set the printer to "print only on one side"  every time and it continues to try and print as if it is going to print on two sides.  And as far as scrapbooking, whenever I have tried to print a page - NO WHERE does it give me the option of a 12 x 12 page.  I am truly frustrated and ready to sell.  Please someone HELP ME !!!

Hi @Scrapbooker1,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I can see what it is jamming. The paper should not be feeding back through.

If you do not have 12 x 12, it sounds like the printer is using the wrong print driver.

Please download and run the Print and Scan Doctor to check the print driver.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor (did it print or scan, any error messages)?

Please try printing this on regular paper to see if the printer behaves the same day.

Please Note: For best results, remove all paper from your printer tray, then put one sheet of sticker paper in the printer at a time.

I hope this helps. Please respond to this post with the results. Thank you for posting!

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm having the exact same problem with my OfficeJet Pro 6978 and Cricut sticker paper.

Hi @CicilyMJ,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand you are having issues printing using sticker paper. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you.

I Just wanted to check if you have followed the steps suggested in the previous post and If so, could you respond to this post with the results of the troubleshooting for further assistance.

If you haven't tried those steps, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to check the Paper handling - Printer Specifications for HP Officejet 7610, 7612 Printers

310 x 310 mm (12 x 12 inches)* is supported in the Input tray.

If you are having issues, I would suggest you could try to create a custom size and then check if that helps, for more please use this link. HP Printers - Creating Custom Paper Sizes

Please follow the step 2 to select the new custom paper size  - and then select the label.

To begin printing on the custom paper size, select the new size for the print job.

  1. Load the custom-size paper into the paper input tray.

  2. Open the item you want to print.

  3. Click File, and then click Print.

  4. In the Print window, click Preferences, Properties, or Printer Properties.

  5. Click the Paper/Quality tab.

    • If Paper Size displays, select the new custom paper size in the Paper Size drop-down menu.

    • If Paper Size does not display, click Advanced, and then select the new custom paper size in the Paper Size drop-down menu.

Figure : Paper Size with the new custom paper size selected

Paper Size with the new custom paper size selected
  6. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box, and then click OK or Print to print the document.

I hope this helps, Let me know how it goes for further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care.
