A few months ago, a nice tech named Cesar helped me set up my new printer, but it hasnt been working for the past 1 1/2 months and I have been trying to get help, not understanding how to do that.
The printer is not working at all, though there are no lights on suggesting a problem and I have tried unplugging and plugging.
I really need a tech to help me with this via email as I am disabled and do not use a phone.
Please email me as soon as possible so I can get this working again.
Thank you.

Hi @rachel8118
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand how frustrating this must be—especially when your HP DeskJet 4258e was working fine after setup but suddenly stopped.
Since there are no lights on, the issue may be related to power or internal hardware. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to resolve this.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting for HP DeskJet 4258e Not Powering On
1. Check Power Connection
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Try a different power outlet to rule out electrical issues.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- If the printer does not power on, try pressing the Power button for 10 seconds.
3. Check for Power Adapter Issues
- If possible, test with another HP-compatible power adapter.
- Inspect the adapter for damage or loose connections.
4. Try a Different Power Source
- If using a power strip, plug the printer directly into a wall outlet.
- If using a surge protector, try bypassing it.
Let me know if you need further clarification! Hopefully, this gets your HP DeskJet 4258e back to working properly. 😊
