Hi there. I have an older HP Laser Jet M604 that had a bad fuser. I purchased a new fuser but it will not work. I keep getting the 50.3F error code. What I have read is that it likely has to do with the voltage level of the fuser but this is where I have a problem. I'm in the US and purchased a 110V fuser (the new one that won't work). The old fuser has the same model number but it says it's a 100V. Is this mismatch the problem? Can I still get 100V fusers or are they just outdated? Anything else I can try here? Thanks.

I pulled the fuser out of one of our loaner units. It is labelled 100V as well. Unless you have 2 bad fusers (unlikely but not impossible) then the next part is the low voltage power supply. PN: RM2-6301-020CN

The 020cn at the end indicates that this part has been updated twice.

Hi Repairatrooper. The PN on the original fuser's bar code is RM2-6308, which is what I ordered for the replacement. The difference is that the voltage on each one is different.

Original: RM2-6308 100V PDC0097587

Replacement: RM2-6308 110V AC2023056079

Do these mean anything to you?

When I search for this model number with 100V, I can't find anything, except for one used unit. They are all 110V.

Might be a labeling mistake. As I posted, my fuser has the same part number, states 100v and works fine. If the old fuser had the same error I would suspect the power supply, otherwise you probably have a defective fuser. Install the old one and see if the error still shows up.

Yeah, I reinstalled the old fuser a couple days ago and the error went away, however it still needs to be replaced. The printing quality is terrible and there is toner coating the entire page, front and back.

If the old fuser does not generate the error then it is unlikely a power supply issue which means you probably got a bad fuser. Was this OEM or a rebuilt? Contact the vendor you bought it from, explain the error you are getting and if they are reputable they will replace it for you.
