This is a new printer - and I am happy enough with it so far.  However, it will only print one page of any document I send to it and I have to come to the machine and press 'Page Feed' (second button down on the panel) to get it to complete the print job.  I am quite sure this is user error, (most are), but I can't find the setting I'm missing.  I do ask for 'All Pages' but it ignores me; for all the notice it takes it's like having another cat in the house!

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Power resetting the printer, Updating the printer firmware and Installing the Updated HP Drivers may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps:

Step 1: Reset the printer

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

2. Wait at least 60 seconds.

3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Step 2: Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Step 3: Clean uninstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers

  1.  In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
  2.  Select your HP Printer
  3.  Select Uninstall
  4.  In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
  5.  In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
  6.  Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
  7.  Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
  8.  Click on the “Drivers” tab
  9.  Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
  10.  Select Ok
  11.  Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
  12.  Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Step 4: Click here to download HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Click here to check the print settings.

Try to print.

Let me know how this goes.

Hi Kumar,

Many thanks for taking the time to pass on all the info.  I have followed the steps and tried every one of these fixes, up to and including the total uninstall and reinstall of the printer, but to no avail.   After all this I still have to press the paper feed button to get the printer to continue printing the rest of a document after the first page.    When I check the print settings they all look good and each presentation is set to 'Print all pages' - but Meh!   Do you have any other cunning wheezes I might try?  Please bear in mind that, although I can follow step by step instructions, I am not a technophile.  Thank you again.  🙂

Sorry, Kumar

I have just managed to free up enough time to have another go at this issue, following your instructions (thank you for this).  However, it is impossible to find the  Tech Support web-form you speak of - the HP website is more interested in selling me a service plan which, as my printer is still in warranty, I don't want.  The only other option it gives is to speak to you in the commuity... circles? Much!  I am on the verge of throwing the whole thing out of the window!

I am aware I am ranting (apologies) - and I will go back and re-trace my steps now - but if this fails again, I will be phonng  the Sales deaprtment, (whose number, strangely, is easy to find), to tell them I have returned the printer to the shop and bought Canon!

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forum.
