HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4645
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hi!

I have HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4645 and now no button works. Fortunately, I can print and scan but exclusively from the PC.

Copying is impossible to perform as no response from the printer's buttons!

Printer front panel is unresponsive, disconnect and reconnect power, and restart. Nothing changed!!

Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks.

Hi@castillo_fr,

Thanks for the reply.

This looks like a hardware issue (Keypad).

I recommend you to contact phone support for any warranty support options as there are no options to flash the firmware on the monitor.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I read your post and would like to help. I understand that you have an HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4645 e-All-in-One Printer and the printer front panel is unresponsive. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a great job.

Let's perform a hard reset on the printer and check:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the issue persists then it could be a hardware issue with the printer front panel and I suggest you to reach out to phone support to explore hardware service options. You may reach phone support by filling out a web form on www.hp.com/contacthp. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!

OK! Thank you for your reply. I will connect the printer directly to the wall outlet (it is not the case currently) and perform full reset as you said.
