HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One P
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Computer unable to establish two-way communication with printer. (Using 'wireless' wifi connection from AT&T)

Computer sees two printers: 1-Officejet 6500 E709a (C93BF0) and 2-HP Officejet 6500E709a Series. although I only have one printer; however neither will connect with computer using HP Print and Scan Dr. 5.0.  'Properties' state check status of device by touching wireless icon or button on my printer but I don't have either.

HP Network Confliguration page list under general information ...Network status/ offline,... Active Connection Type/None...URL (s) for Embedded Web Server... http://0.0.0.0.

Also on Configuration page under 802.3 Wired...Hardware Address (MAC)/f4ce46c93bf0  and Link Confiruration... None

Continuing  with the configuration page under mDNS (?)... status...enabled and service Name...(#1 above) 6500 E709a (C93BF0).

Thank you Shiomi!

Connecting the printer with an ethernet cable to my router worked.  Great  job!

Peace,

Hi,

The HP Officejet 6500 (E709a) do not support wireless, it only support USB or wired ethernet connection (a wired network connection), therefore I'm not clear how it is connected wirelessly.

You would need to connect the printer with an ethernet cable to your router, then an IP Address should be listed within the HP Network Configuration Report (instead of 0.0.0.0)....

I have a HP Officejet 6500 inkjet printer.  I recently updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8.  I have gone to the hp printer driver support but the driver does not seem to load.  When I print the print button the printer responds but produces a blank page.  I just installed a black ink cartridge an hour ago.  The setop window on the printer tells me it is not connected to the computer

Is Wondows 10 the culprit?

I would suggest you make sure your computer and printer are communicating, i.e. the printer and computer must be plug into each other  via a phone jack plug cable. The 6500 E709 is not a wireless printer.

I do not have Windows 10 so not able to address it's effects.

Hopes this helps.  Peace,
