My 8720 is frequently printing a blurry first page of a print job. Looking through the forums I see this problem has been identified as an incompatibility between a new firmware version (WMP1CN1919BR) of the printer and the printhead (from 2018). The solution seems to be a replacement printhead. It appears the warranty has expired on my printer so how do I go about getting the replacement printhead?
I have already made sure that all updates are installed on both my printer and computer and have reset the printing system on the computer.

Hi @mbarel,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I suggest you try the below suggestions, before trying a printhead replacement.
To better assist you -
1) Does the copy print out the same way?
2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or devices?
While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -
-
Load plain white paper in the input tray.
-
On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, touch the Setup icon
, swipe up on the display, touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report.
Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

This occurs printing from a variety of applications, including MS Word and Apple's Preview. It happens from multiple computers as well. I'm not sure what you mean by "Does the copy print out the same way?" If you mean "when it fails, is it consistent? Yes."
I have already followed the procedures for quality issues and ensuring that all SW, including firmware, are up to date.

@TEJ1602, Since the printer is out of warranty, I get redirected here. However, all the posts on this topic indicate that the problem results from a firmware inconsistency created by HP and that a replacement printhead is the only solution. Given the cirmcumstances (especially if this is all correct), I believe I should be able to get a replacement head. Others have indicated that they have. What must I do next? And if I can't get a replacement, what other options do I have?
