Our printer has recently got stuck in a verifying mode. The printer screen says "Verifying..." with a rotating circle. It cannot be connected to on the PC, nor will it print. We have unplugged the power several times with no change to this mode. The on-off button does not function. Any advice?

@AML_NZ, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I see that the printer is in an error state, the only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset, and re-initialize the printer.

Thank you for your help.
Our screen was displaying "verifying" only, with just an "x" in the bottom left corner. Upon your advice, I hit this "x" 4 times in a row. This brought the printer menu back and now our printer is working as per normal.
So grateful, thank you again!
