HP OfficeJet Pro 8025
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

I've got a  OfficeJet Pro 8025 that's less than 2 years old but its failing on me. I have hardly used it other than for draft black and white. Troubleshooting app finds nothing wrong. Updated to newest drivers. Restarted. using wifi to print. Using HP cartridges.

ISSUES

Black prints, red a little others not at all.

Cleaned cartridges which are over half full. Only printed black and a light red.

Tried to align. Printed paper with mostly black and won't scan. It either freezes on scan or gives me an error. When I lift the top of scanner there is a flashing green light across the top of the bed.

I've attached the images of the test print etc.

Would appreciate any help!

I decided as a last ditch effort to purchase new cartridges though I assumed I would be wasting money.  The cartridges that were ALREADY IN THE PRINTER were only 4 or 5 months old and half full. And the printer errors never said anything about ink problems.  Because it repeatedly told me it could not scan the alignment page led me to believe it was a mechanical issue. It

However, I put the new cartridges in and it works fine and scans the alignment page.

I'm guessing they just dried up from little use over 4 or 5 months?. I've had HP printers for over a decade and never has a color cartridge dried up even with minimal use over a year or more.  Makes me wonder if they are drying out much quicker now. Feels like I'm going to be forced to print color or else waste cartridges.

Anyway just glad I got it working. Which is what matters.

Appreciate the input!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Are you able to copy well?

Do you've any other of ink cartridge's?

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

Try  firmware update: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

Thank you Betty for the ideas. I've done everything including cleaning the print head... or rather ther circle underneath each cartridge with a dam cutip.  Same issue. Blue prints partially. Red prints partially. No yellow.

Also the print alignment page still gives me an error when I try to scan the image it printed. I've attached the new  lignment page it printed. which looks like the first one.

Also added a link to a short video that shows the scanner bed flashing. Not sure its supposed to do that.

Appreciate your help!
