I purchased a brand new officejet 4655 a couple of months ago. Sometimes when I makes black and white copies the print out comes out with lines as show in the picture below. When I do nozzle cleaning the diagnostic printout came out with 1 line of text missing.
Bad cartridge or printer?

UPDATE: I have done all the maintenance. Alignment, nozzle cleaning level 1 and 2, uninstalled the drivers and removed all the folders/files/entries associated with this printer. Reinstalled the newest driver. This did NOT resolve the problem. The problem only happens with the black ink.
The problem is strange. When I print out dignostic page, text will have blank line through it. When I print out a black/white PDF file it prints it fine. Colored text and pictures print fine. Making a color copy of text/picture is fine, but a black and white copy of pictures prints out with lines as you see above.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Since you have already performed all the troubleshooting steps and the color copies are printing fine, it could be a cartridge issue.
Do try a new black ink cartridge and let me know if all works ok.

Seems like this printer is not working right. When I created this thread I distinctly remember the black cartridge having 60+ % of ink. I have printed maybe 3 diagnostic pages and have not used the printer since. Today the ink cartridge is showing only 30% of ink left. Also, the printer cannot make copies at all now. Blank pages come out. I was able to scan a page to my computer, when I printed it, it came out in very faint blue color? (all text).
What's worse is the warranty on this printer expired before I even purchased it. I purchased it from a an ebay seller with very high feedback rate. It was listed as NEW. I expected to get a new printer with warranty. At this point I have a 15 pound paper weight.

Our products have a warranty of one year from the date of purchase. Since this a hardware issue, I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team as this could be a hardware issue.

I checked the warranty on HP's website, and it says the warranty expired in Nov 2018. So the seller on ebay must have been selling refurbs or returns as "new". Oh well, I got screwed out of $50. I already purchased another HP printer from Walmart. Should be here tomorrow.
