Haivng problems with an Officejt 5740 that I have just changed over to wired from wireless connectivity. Most devices on my home LAN print fine, but I have a Win10 (64) desktop that will not print.
Device adds via control panel fine, drivers are updated and all shows up as device working properly, etc. I have set it as the default printer. I've have done an IP scan and all the right ports are open for printing across the network.
There is one error from control panel. If I go into Printer Propereties & on the General tab click "preferences" button at the bottom, I get: Function address 0x00007FFA9FF8A799 caused a protection fault. (exception code 0xe06d7363). Some or all property page(s) may not be displayed. It then brings up an odd, cut-down version of the Layout and Paper/Quality settings.
I have downloaded v5.3.1 of Print & Scan Doctor. Selected my printer and run the "Fix Printing" option. Diagnostics complete fine - all ticks in the boxes and I'm given the option to print a test page. If I exit without the test print, I still can't print. If I click on the test print option, it runs fine but nothing comes out of the printer. If I then click on the "No Print" option the process keeps running, with processor utilisation on a Ryzen 7 3700x at 15%, but then application itself just hangs.
Anyone got any idea what is going on here?
