My Officejet 7612 won't power on at all. I tried everything suggested on the HP Support Page for this product, and it finally came down to having to repair or replace the product. The printer is only 1.5 years old and hardly used. It has been temperamental since purchase, and I had to receive technical assistance under warranty once before as it wasn't powering on. Now, ever since upgrading my Mac OS to Sierra, 10.12, the printer stopped printing, copying and scanning save a few unusual times that I got it to work. Now it is completely dead and unresponsive. I am afraid to buy another HP Printer, as this one performed so terribly from the beginning. Also, how do I get out the nearly full cartridges of ink that I just recently replaced? Is this printer really ready for the trash? It looks so clean and new inside and out. Please advise. Hate to replace. Thank you.

Sorry, I may have jumped to conclusions based on your description. You might go through the troubleshooting steps in the document here if you have not already. Is there any noise or movement when you turn on the printer? Any lights on the front panel, even briefly? Does the light on the power supply dim or go out? If the power supply light dims at all or goes out I would probably replace it, it is the most likely (and least expensive) thing to fix.
Before I would order a power supply I would probably remove the back panel (or duplexer if it has one) and gently move the large rollers visible there upward, go one full revolution. This can clear certain jams that may be causing the printer to not initialize properly.

The power supply is external on the Officejet 7612. I would consider picking up a replacement supply and see if that resolves the issue. The part is ~ $20 or less, see here for a search. The power supply part number is 0957-2304.

Dear Bob, Thank you very much for your response. I appreciate your time and suggestion. Just curious, the power light on the power supply does come on when plugged in. It still could be the cause of the issue? Thank you.

Dear Bob, Thank you for your suggestion about the rollers. I did as you advised, and it definitely worked in getting the machine to power on. I thought I was fine, but now . . . I have another problem. 😞 As I was attempting to download the new driver for the printer from the hp website, my printer lost connection. I tried to get the connection back to no avail. I shut the printer off, unplugged everything, waited 60 seconds, all that, many times, and all I get is a blue screen with error code 824C7000. I checked your site for troubleshooting and found that it may be the ink heads that need to be cleaned. I opened the door to access the ink cartridges, but the cartridges are way off to the right and can't be reached. Since the printer won't power on with any noise or movement, just the blue error screen, I don't know how to resolve this. Please help. I've spent hours and hours of time trying to get this machine to work right since purchase. Thank you. Suzanne
