Officejet Pro 8725 printer, scan, all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I print or copy or scan, the printer is actually slicing the paper that has been printed on. There is a long slice that looks like it was cut with a razor blade along either the left or right side of the page. This started after I downloaded new driver(s.) I have cleaned the rollers and it did not help. It does not happen on every page. It seems to be random.

Drivers would not cause a physical defect like a tear in the output.  There is something in your paper path that is creating the problem.

Open up the printer and take a look at the paper path.  See if you can find anything that might get in the way near the area of the tear on the paper.

One thought might be that if the rollers are shearing the paper as it is fed through.  Although I would think the printer would squeek or fail to pass the paper on if there was enough resistance to shear the paper.

Try taking a picture of the defect for us.  That might generate more ideas from the community.

Glad to hear it is not the drivers. It is not the rollers doing this. There are tiny metal pieces inside the printer. It is not the rollers doing this. There are tiny metal pieces inside the printer.
