Office Jet Pro 8600 911a CM749A
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Always used HP Brand, and since error message have replaced 2x but still get "cartridge appears damaged".

I don't think it is the cartridges, They are new HP Brand from Officeworks, Aust.

Drivers and firmware up to date

Did reset and hard reset - no change

Also wiped contacts and flushed ink tubes

Printer otherwise has been good - used maybe 100 sheets (or less) per month

Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Please make sure your printer did not get locket into another region due to using cartridges from abroad (e.g. online order, etc)

Open the HP Smart app from your PC, if your printer is not listed click the plus sign and add it.

Double-click your printer icon and select Supply Status.

What cartridges are listed under Installed, and what under Supported?

Be sure to clarify the listed ink cartridges zone for any section too (e.g. Z20, Z10, etc.)

Thanks Shloml but I have 951xl z40 installed and all supported.

These same ones have worked in the past.

Can't seem to get a solution to this one.

is it possible that an update from HP has interfered with the ability of the printer to communicate with the cartridges - as it is all of them? What do you think?

Regards

What do you mean by All Supported?

Could you please add a screenshot of this dialog?

Hey Shlomil/HP any advice on what to do with printer ink cartridge issue?

One idea I am playing with is that as hp updates firmware older chips on cartridges become out of date. I am thinking I need to exchange cartridges for a another time at Officeworks, Aust.
