Orientation issue: printing envelopes from MS Word Mail Merge on a Macbook

I have an HP Envy 4500 All in One Printer. I have used it for many years to print envelopes from a mail merge document in MS Word, on my Macbook (Catalina 10.15 OS). I have been trying for several days now to do this, but every time I go to print, it prints the envelopes at the wrong orientation. They are landscape and it thinks they are portrait. I've tried every setting I can think of. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the driver. Any suggestions? Thank you!

• What size envelopes are you using?
• Make sure the printer supports it. You may check this on the paper-handling section on the product specifications page.
• Are you able to print other documents fine?

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Thanks Kumar,

I was always able to print directly to envelopes before, and these are the same 5x7 envelopes I've always used. I wonder if the printer is just becoming obsolete or incompatible with later versions of OS? I already uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, updated to the latest OS. Everything else prints fine, even labels from a mail merge.

I understand you were able to print before. However, a 5x7 envelope is not supported by this model printer as per its specifications. Try using a supported size envelope and check if that works.

Oh wow. Thanks for letting me know. Would it be able to print regular 5x7 paper?
