I recently purchased an HP OfficeJet 5255 all-in-one printer. The output tray extender engaged automatically on my old 4600 series, but does not open during print/copy jobs on the 5255. Is that something I have to do manually or is there something wrong with my printer?
Secondly, I frequently get an Error Code OXD8077900 and the printer will not print. A quick reboot to the printer and it works again; still it's a bit annoying to have to restart the printer.
Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.
I'll try my best to help
Please perform a Printer Reset
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed
Next use the control panel to turn off the IPv6 setting.
-
From the home screen on the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup
.
-
Touch Network Setup, and then touch Advanced Settings.
-
Turn off IPv6, and then touch Yes to confirm.
Also update the Firmware from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-5200-all-in-one-printer-series/1409573...
Let me know if you keep getting the OXD8077900 error
As for the Tray Extender, you need to pull it out manually when printing
Keep me posted.
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

I followed your suggestions this morning (8/28). So far so good! Will let you know if the error message continues over the next few days; but if you don't hear from me you can assume your solution worked.
I must say I'm a bit disappointed that the output tray extender is not automatic on this model. It automatically came out with every print/copy job on my old model 4200 series. But all in all I'm pleased with this 5200 series machine.
Thank you for your help!
