I CANNOT GET THE PAPER TRAY BACK INTO THE SLOT. IT DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

Check for any obstructions in the path. Place the printer on its side and then try to insert the paper tray.

You may refer to step 5 in this document to know how to load papers and insert the tray.
