I followed this procedure (I have Windows 7 OP) and it still cannot find the printer.  My ISP provides a stagnant IP address for the printer but upon re-installation of the driver software the IP address is claimed to be not found or incorrect.    The OP for this threat had the problem resolved by a live person who knew how to solve this problem -- it must not be the routine you've listed here.  I followed the procedure exactly as you wrote except the software installation which was for Windows 8 only.

i'm having the same exact issue as everyone on this post, no solution even with trying everything on my own, hours of wasted time. I need to get through to an HP Tech Support rep, what number do I call?
