My last photo print that worked was 10x15cm HP photo paper WITH TAB.
When I try now with 10x15cm HP Advanced photo paper WITHOUT TAB, the paper jams and there is no printing at all.
I chose 10x15cm (without Tab) from the printer menu, but nothing seems to work.

Is the printer working fine with the regular document?
I suggest you do a Hard Reset on the printer
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16
Restart the printer.

Figure : Clean the paper rollers
-

Thanks Raj1788. Cleaning the rollers solved the problem.
I do have another issue: often the photo is printed with "white squares", spaces without photo information. usually, after a few prints. the "white squares" disappear... Shame of the ink lost though.

I am afraid the problem with printing photos has returned.
At first I was able to print a 10x15cm (without TAB and not borderless), but with 2 "white squares". So I gave it another try, maybe the printer needed to warm up. But then I ended with paper jam again.
Again I cleaned the rollers, and executed maintenance tasks, but still paper jam.
Then I tried 10x15 cm borderless and it printed the photo but with a "white" space on the right-hand side as if it had been photo paper with TAB.
From then on, the printer refuses to print more photos and ends up reporting paper jam.
I can print without problem on the standard A4 paper, also in color.
What I do notice though is that regularly the paper shows "damage" from going through the rollers mechanism which seems to indicated the the paper transportation mechanism is failing tt transport the paper harmlessly. I use standard white A4 80g paper from Quantore.
In the meantime I have "lost" already at least 9 10x15cm blank photo papers and some of the ink without result.

Well, I perused the options for support and end up on this forum again. When the warranty of a product has expired, the choices for support become very limited, or only at a cost that will justify the purchase of a new device.
As I still have problems with photo printing – in a very rare moment a photo does get printed – I have been trying to buy HP photo paper WITH TAB. But that proves to be a challenge.
My local dealer did not carry HP photo paper WITH TAB, but of course did WITHOUT TAB. I tried several web shops, but none of them have it or even have not heard from it.
The C7280 came with a pack of 25 high gloss HP Premium Plus Photo Paper 10x15cm 280g/m2 WITH TAB and states product code Q8027A. For sure, that HP product no longer exists and has been replaced by something else, presumably, but unknown to dealers, web shops and me.
I have the feeling that 10x15cm photo paper WITH TAB would not give paper jam or whatever, and print the photo correctly. Because of the extra length – approx. 1cm – the paper transport mechanism in the back would be able to move the photo paper WITH TAB without a problem, and not cause slipping or the like.
Currently, the paper jam and carriage jam (a fault that showed up later) no longer occur, for whatever reason. It could be that the jam messages were erroneously displayed or that a shutdown and restart of the C7280 reset or corrected the firmware.
