My printer's issue persists at all times. The printer prints normally when instructed. But it also prints the same page (an E-ticket) from a file that was entered five months ago. The page is printed at random intervals and whenever the printer is turned on. The print queue says that there are "no jobs in the queue."
ChatGTP's solution is to unplug the printer for 60 seconds and then while unplugged hold down the "ON" button for 15 seconds, then plug the power cord back in and restart the printer. This solution did not work. Is there any other way to clear the unwanted file out of the printer's memory? There have been no error messages, software or driver changes, or changes to my internet connection. Connection to my PC is by USB wire, not wireless.

@CarloZ, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand how frustrating it must be to have your HP DeskJet 2734e randomly reprinting an old document, especially when the print queue shows no jobs. Since you've already tried the basic power reset steps, let's go a bit deeper to clear any residual memory or stuck print job.
Clear Print Spooler on Windows 11
Even if the queue looks empty, the spooler service might be holding onto a ghost job.
Steps:
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll down and find Print Spooler.
- Right-click it and select Stop.
- Navigate to: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
- Delete all files in this folder.
- Go back to Services, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.
Check for Scheduled or Startup Print Jobs
Sometimes, a document might be set to print on startup or is stuck in a background app.
- Open Task Scheduler (taskschd.msc) and look for any tasks related to printing.
- Check your Startup Apps (via Task Manager) for any apps that might auto-send print jobs.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
Corrupt drivers can sometimes cause erratic behavior.
- Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Search for HP DeskJet 2734e and download the latest Full Feature Software and Drivers.
- Uninstall the current printer from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Reinstall using the freshly downloaded package.
Factory Reset the Printer
This will restore the printer to its original settings.
Steps:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Cancel (X) and Wireless buttons together for 5 seconds.
- The printer will restart and reset to factory defaults.
You’ll need to reconfigure your printer after this step.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
