I think what the questioner has provided is a temporary work around rather than a resolution. Is HP planning to update the drivers to accommodate iOS11?
This really does leave the printer worthless.

Absolutely correct. Do any Hp personnel read this thread? If so please respond.
Thanks

Fix for HP Envy 4520 printers to make them work with iOS 11
HP Envy 4520 AirPrint Fix for iOS 11 from the main menu select setup scroll down to printer update and select that and download the latest firmware.

Next, go to control panel of printer select “Set Up” select “Tools”and select “restore factory settings”
- when it re-boots, select the wireless icon ((I)) on the lower portion of screen. , select the gear icon and select advanced settings & turn off IPv6.
Go back to the wireless set up set up wizard and
- reconfigure wifi to connect to your network (if it has eprint you will need to re-set that too)

Airprint should now work - it did for me on HP Envy 4520 and it is reported to do so for other models.
If that doesn’t work you can print through Wi-Fi direct ( it’s on the main screen along the bottom look for the small icon that looks like a printer with a couple of small rectangles next to it) select it and confirm it’s on and note the password. From your iPhone/iPad go to wireless networks and select your printer from the list and enter the password connect to that Wi-Fi net work to print your document. This works though you will have to exit your usual Wi-Fi and connect to the Printer Wi-Fi each time you want to print a document.

Thank you. I did try turning off the ipv6 and it did help with some printing but some (esp email) still came out small. Lots of users being asked to do lots of ridiculous things just because HP can’t be bothered to issue an update..

Hi, has anyone with a support contract/under warranty formerly logged this as a problem?

I am not sure how official, if at all, this forum is?

Are HP hiding under the umbrella that nothing has been reported formally?

Thanks

Hi, I raised it with a UK HP Sales Rep at Optimise 2018 IT Event, I sent him the link to this thread and he said he'd look in to it. That was last week. It was Grant Thomas who is a UK&I Growth Sales Manager...I said it put me off purchasing new HP equipment for my company to be honest.

I wrote to the board after finding this on the Hp website- I heard nothing but suggest that anyone reading this write asking them to do something-

Thank you! I think it would be useful if any of us buy significant/use HP equipment at our place of work, we place a call with the support team and get a log number... a large corporation with a supplier problem tends to get more interest. Any takers? Thank you!

Please try updating to iOS 11.3.  We have seen some improvement to a similar issue with the latest version of iOS.

While I may work for HP Inc, the views and opinions expressed here are my own.

I got my ipad working by turning off IPv6.  I have started a new thread with my best effort to explain how to turn off IPv6, if anyone needs simple instructions.  I have no idea how to link to that thread, I guess you will find it if you search for it, it is called " IPv6 workaround for Ipad printing small with ios11 " or something like that.

Meanwhile, notwithstanding the advice to try 11.3, I had a good look at the blurb for 11.3 and it is a huge update, with no mention of fixing printing.  Right now, because my printing is working, I am determined to not take any more ios updates from apple until I am forced to, updating to ios11 has been a pain in the whatever and I have lost some confidence in Apple's quality control as a result.
