Hope it lasts. I am running 11.2.2 on both my phone and iPad mini. Neither of these devices will print full size. Have tried all the different configurations, which all work at the time and even t time i do another AirPrint I get the small ssize prints.
Hope you have better luck than I have had so far.

I have just started the EWS and looked in vain for the the 'Paper Size' setting.
All I have in my EWS is the ability to change 'Paper Handling' which covers the use of the "Tray Lock' and the 'Default Tray'.
Since my last post I have done a Power ON Reset of my printer to restore the 'Factory Default' settings. I then tried my IPhone Mail print facility and found it still produced a 'small' image. I then set OFF the IPV6 network protocol and found that I get a 'Full Size' page!!
Hope this helps!

Hi, Have you guys worked out a fix so that I can print from my iPad Pro on iOS 11.2.2 to Airprint yet? My HP Officejet 6500A Plus, which was so good at remote printing, only prints pages in an unreadably small scale now. I know I can try with the HP Smart App, but Airprint is so much more convenient and the Airprint function is why I bought your printer. Hope you have a patch by now. Michael

I don’t think I’ve EVER been able to print out a decent photo either.
Considering a complete set of inks for this printer is nudging £100 (must be the dearest on the market) this is a disgrace.

My new Epson ET-4550 printers have been installed and from immediate setup printed A4 from my iPhone X and Mini iPad 4 instantly without any issues. These printers may not be as slick as the 8600 but for my general personal use sure beat the grief that this thread has demonstrated with the HP lack of compatibility with IOS 11.
My two 8600 printers are now decommissioned and available to anybody who only plays Microsoft or grandchildren.
This will be my last post as my issue is solved.

The only thing they appearatly are interested in is to get new customers and not to take
care of the old ones.
Lycky for me, I found a work around, so I can still use my printer.
But not all people have that opportunity, so herefore, in my opinion, HP should
be more helpful, because the problem can be solved! But they are not interested to do so!
Have HP made any calculations on the losses in Goodwill?

As posted previously, this issue seems to be due to achange in how iOS 11 interacts with printers that are unable to report back what size of media is loaded in the printer. This is a feature called media ready.
Newer versions of Airprint will ask the printer what media and size is loaded before formatting and sending the print job.
Older devices, like the majority in this thread, do not have the physical capability to detect if paper is loaded or what size of paper is loaded until after a job is sent to the device. This would require the addition of a new physical sensor on the printer.
The early specification for Airprint did not require the media ready feature for certification. Airprint would simply pick the default paper size for what ever type of document was being printed. For the US and an email or web page this should be US Letter (8.5x11) for a photo this should be 4x6.
What is being observed in some cases is that after the iOS 11 update for printers with out media ready capabilities, Airprint is defaulting to 3x5 to print everything. I am unsure exactly why this is happening and why it does not affect every user. For example I am unable to reproduce the issue with my OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911A which is the same as several on this thread.
Theory behind current work around: Enabling or disabling IPv6 on the printer seems to force Airprint treat the device as a brand new printer and reasses the capabilities of the device. In some cases this causes Aiprint to again use the expected defaults. While I have been unable to reproduce the letter shrinking to 3x5 I have seen a phot which should be 4x6 sent to teh printer as 3x5. Using the workarounds provided by users here (enable/disable IPv6) that resolved itself as well.

I know this is causing alot of grievance to HP users and I completely understand.
Every attempt is being made to see if a resolution can be found.
