Hi There,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand how frustrating it is when your printer suddenly stops working and shows an error like Oxc19a0020, especially when you rely on it for important tasks. This error typically points to a printhead issue, often related to ink system failure or electrical contact problems.

Steps to Fix Error Code Oxc19a0020

Step 1: Reset the Printer Without Cartridges

This helps clear internal memory and reset the ink system.

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Open the cartridge access door.
  3. Remove all ink cartridges carefully.
  4. With the printer still on, unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  5. Wait 60 seconds.
  6. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  7. Turn the printer back on.
  8. Reinsert the cartridges and close the access door.

If prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to align the printer.

Step 2: Clean the Printhead Contacts

If ink or debris is interfering with the electrical contacts:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the printhead and inside the printer.
  • Let everything dry for 5–10 minutes before reinserting.

Step 3: Update Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause communication errors:

  • Visit the Official HP® Support page.
  • Enter your printer model and download the latest firmware update.

Step 4: Use the HP App’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

More info: Use Diagnose & Fix in the HP app to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.
