HP Inkjet 7610
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP Officejet 7610  Printer printing problems:

It prints a job.

The print job completes.

The print job remains listed in the print queue and blocks subsequent jobs from printing.

Most of the time, it remains in the print queue saying that it is “deleting” the print job, but it doesn’t.

Nothing else can print, even if I change the priority of a job sent subsequent to the one that is “deleting.” I have to shut down the printer and my computer, and sometimes, not even that works.

Sometimes if the printer is on and I shut down my computer, oddly the subsequent print job starts printing. Other times it doesn’t.

Occasionally, I delete the print job and it actually deletes and the next job starts printing.

Then that job also gets stuck in the queue and prevents the subsequent print job from printing.

It is always a toss up if that stuck print job will actually delete if I Cancel the print job (remember it has already printed, it just remains in the queue). If by some miracle it does delete, it sometimes takes a LONG time, even for a 1 page print job to delete.

Please help!!!

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

As I Understand the print job is stuck in the queue and you are unable to delete the same,

No worries as I'd love to help, however, I need a few more details to provide an accurate solution:

Did you attempt to delete all the jobs and restart the services?

Have you initiated the test from Print and scan doctor to check what this issue is related to?

Did you reinstall the printer drivers?

While I await your reply, here's something you can do:

Step 1: Delete job files and restart

Whenever a print job is sent to the printer a file is created in Windows. Sometimes these files become corrupt and cause problems. To properly reset your printing environment, delete these print job files manually and restart both the computer and the printer.

Step 2: Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor  to quickly and automatically perform several troubleshooting tasks known to resolve this issue. When this link is clicked, HP Print and Scan Doctor is downloaded using your Internet browser's download capabilities.

Step 3: Reinstall the print driver

If print jobs continue to get stuck when printing, reset the printing software system files by removing and reinstalling the print driver.

Pasting this resolution as it took me 3 hours to find something that resolved the issue

1) Figure out your printers IP Address.
2) Open--> Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers
3) Right click the printer you are working on, and select "Printer Properties"
(Note Properties, and Printer Properties are different)
4) Go to Ports, if the port for your printer is anything besides the IP Address, hit "Add Port.."
5) Select " Standard TCP/IP Port ", and hit New Port Button
6) Hit Next, then add the Printer IP from step 1, into both the IP and Port.
(Sometimes windows will add IP_ in front of port, this is okay)
7) Make sure the new Port you created is Check-marked, and hit Apply.

You should now notice instant prints and a queue that will either actually clear after printing or print so fast you wont even see it populate in the queue.

If printing using USB ....  get to the printer properties and under Advanced, Print Processor, if the print processor is set to "winprint"and there is another selection, "hpzpplhn" , try that , with the default data type "RAW".
