Hello, I need to get battery testing equipment to check the battery's health percentage (not its charge level). I want to determine its level of degradation. Thank you!

Hi @EdCat7
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for explaining that so clearly—it's genuinely important to assess battery health beyond just the charge level, especially for devices like the HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer that rely on consistent power delivery.
Here’s how you can accurately test the battery health percentage and degradation level:
Recommended Battery Testing Methods
1. Use HP Battery Health Center (if available)
- Some HP mobile printers support diagnostics via HP Support Assistant.
- Connect the printer via USB → Open HP Support Assistant → Select your printer → Run Battery Check.
- This may show full charge capacity vs. design capacity, which indicates degradation.
2. Use a Multimeter with Load Testing
- Remove the battery and use a digital multimeter to measure voltage.
- Compare the reading under load (while powering the printer) vs. idle.
- A significant voltage drop under load suggests cell degradation.
3. Battery Report via Windows (if connected)
- If the printer battery is recognized by Windows:
- Open Command Prompt → Type powercfg /batteryreport
- This generates a report showing design capacity vs. full charge capacity.
