HP Deskjet 1512
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Using an HP Deskjet 1512 printer.  Standard drivers etc.  Connected to a PC, running Windows 10, 64 bit operating system.

The printer will NOT print RED colors.  I have changed ink cartridges to no avail.  I have updated drivers, restarted PC, unplugged and re-plugged printer to no avail.

The printer will print shades of blue, purple, yellow, greys and black.

Can someone please help me?

Thank you.

@bobzowt, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Try making a standalone color copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Check the estimated ink levels, replace any low or empty ink cartridges.

Clean the ink cartridges

Perform steps 12 and 11 from this document

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic page

Press and hold the Power button. While holding down the Power button, press and hold the Cancel button. Hold them both down for 2 or 3 seconds.

The test page prints.

Let me know how this goes.

Kumar0307 :

Your instructions were to "Make a standalone copy."  I don't know what a "Standalone" copy means.  Over the last couple of months or so, I have made MANY copies of various types, trying to get the printer to print RED .  Nothing so far has worked.

No offense intended, but so far your efforts have NOT helped.     (Boo, Hoo)    I'm willing to try most anything you suggest, as long as I understand what it is you request.  Please try again,

Thank you.

Thank you for the response. A standalone copy is to place an original document on the scanner glass and pressing the color copy button on the printer to check if it makes a copy in color.

If the issue persists, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
