My HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw just starts printing by itself and continues until the paper tray is emptied. it is printing about 4 cryptic lines on each page. This just started and occurred overnight. I have just updated the drivers but that did not solve the issue.

Hi Zoey.
Thank you for the guidance. I ran through the entire process as you described and successfully resolved the printing issue.
I encountered this same issue a couple of years ago and resolved it but did not document how it was resolved. I have archived your instructions for future reference should this issue occur once again.
Your prompt support is sincerely appreciated.
